As I thought about the assignment more and more, particular questions came to my mind. Are billboards socially constructed? Does our freedom of speech allow or force us to create personal billboards? What would society by like if we did not express ourselves through personal billboards? If we could not express ourselves through billboards, how would one express his or her self?

Personal Billboards
When I think of billboards, I typically think of those that are along the highway as I am trying to get to work or to school. It was not until I did this assignment, that I actually took time to read each one and tried to understand the message each sign revealed.
As I thought about the assignment more and more, particular questions came to my mind. Are billboards socially constructed? Does our freedom of speech allow or force us to create personal billboards? What would society by like if we did not express ourselves through personal billboards? If we could not express ourselves through billboards, how would one express his or her self?
